THANK YOU ALL FOR A WONDERFUL 2010 SUMMER CAMP SEASON!

WE HAD A BLAST WITH ALL OF YOU!

SUMMER CAMP--GRADES 1-12

Our program focuses on developing your child’s understanding of horses from the ground up. Upon arrival, campers will be grouped according to their knowledge base. All campers, regardless of ability, will be involved in the daily rituals familiar to all horsemen; bringing horses in from pastures, feeding, mucking out stalls, grooming, caring for tack, and of course, riding.

Weekly field trips will take the campers off the farm to experience a sampling of the various aspects of the equine industry. Field trips will vary each week of camp and could possibly include visits to: Iron Springs breeding farm, behind the scenes at Delaware Park, hunting kennels, and a harness makers shop, to name a few.

Each week, a featured local equine professional will visit the campers to discuss their area of expertise. Such discussions will be hands on and offer each camper the chance to experience a one on one interaction with professionals ranging from sidesaddle and western reining champions to equine dentists, nutritionists and veterinarians.

In addition to riding and horse care, campers will participate in daily arts and crafts, as well as some good old fashioned country games. An on-site creek will provide relief from the heat, and our daily games will foster teamwork, as well as helping campers to develop a deeper understanding and respect for their environment.

PRESCHOOL PONIES DAY CAMP--Pre-K/Kindergarten Ages

Preschool Ponies Day Camp is designed especially for your preschooler (ages 3-5), who is always begging to ride a pony, but is too young for formal riding lessons. We  focus on teaching the children safety around the horses, and the barn.  They will also learn the basics of grooming, tacking-up, feeding, and riding.  Their daily riding lessons will be given on our fabulous, well behaved ponies. The children will have an experienced instructor by their side, while riding, to ensure their safety.  Lots of horsey-themed crafts and activities will also be offered to teach them valuable information, while they are playing and having fun.  No boring, sit down lectures here!

Camp is offered 3 days a week-Tues/Wed/Thurs

9:00am-12:00 pm.
