Second Nature Farms

Melanie loves to ride her pony, Sparkles.  She espically likes to jump! She  got  to go to JR Young Rider's last year, and did very well.  She is also a great student who recives excellent grades in school.  While at the barn, when not riding, Mel likes to feed the horses. Especially dumping the grain. She would love to be an instructor one day. Good Luck Mel!

Devon is one of Second Nature Farms's working students. She recently purshased new horse, Rembrandt, who she competes in dressage. Rembrandt is a 7 year old Danish Warmblood. Devon and Rembrandt recieved a 76% at their first show!  Devon is an excellent student here, as well in school. Devon is graduating from high school a year early to be able to ride with Silva and Boyd Martin.

Sarah has been riding since she was 9, but just started riding here at SNF. She just bought her new horse Koby Kat! She is a hard worker here at SNF. Sarah enjoys jumping and spending time with friends. Sarah's is currently learning more about dressage and keeping up wih her jumping as well. Her goal is to ride in an event.

Katie is 19 years old, and has been riding at Second Nature Farm for many years now. She graduated high school 2 years ago and is currently working full time. However, Katie still finds the time to ride Rio. She love to give the horses baths! Katie's main riding interest is dressage, however she also jumps. Her main riding goal is to "hold on-to stay on", something she has learned from her instructor. Katie also enjoys playing with her little brother when she is not at the barn.

Charlotte is one of the fantastic instructors here.  She also helps keep the barn VERY clean and organized! For now, Charlotte's goal is to share her knowledge of horsemanship with others. She wants to give back what she was so generously given throughout her years around horses. She loves to jump N.A., her bay thoroughbred. gelding. One thing Charlotte has learned over the years is that you don’t know everything there is to know about horses, there is ALWAYS something new to be discovered!!

Our favorite Little Girl!

Grace's favorite thing to do at the barn is to jump her horse and try to canter. Grace says the best thing about riding is being with an awesome horse.  Grace went to Junior Young Riders in July and had a fantastic time riding her dressage tests and being with her barn friends.   Outside of the barn, Grace likes to play her flute and sing.  Her favorite class in school is math.

Sierra has been riding at Second Nature Farm for 1 1/2 years, and loves all of the ponies she rides.  However, she especially loves Rose.  Sierra is 8 years old. Her favorite activity at the barn is grooming the horses.  She  also likes to go on trail rides, cantering, and jumping.  Sierra has been to 2 horse shows, and would like to go to more!  When not riding, Sierra enjoys reading, girl scouts, and movies.

Haley has been riding for 2 years, and just got to do her first show! She enjoys trail rides and jumping-especially on Phin. When she is not at the barn, Haley likes to play the piano, draw, swim, go camping, and participate in Girl Scouts. Haley's goal is to be better at riding and to earn ribbons! Go Haley!!!

Gillian is 6 years old, and has been riding for a year now.  She loves to feed the horses, and go trail riding. When she is not at the barn, she loves to play with her friends. Gillian wants to go to more horseshows this year. She has learned to jump, so watch out, here she comes. She is doing an amazing job riding! Way to go Gillian!

Rabea started riding when she was 4! She's now 8...She has learned a lot in 3 years, such as: before a jump, use your leg and push, so that they don't refuse the jump!   Rabea rides her own pony, "JUST FOR KEEPS".  Some of her favorite things to do when not here are swimming, triathlons, and playing outside.  In the future, she would like to have better posture, balance, and straight lines. Her favorite activities at the barn are riding and doing chores.

Annika ,6, is also Keeper's owner. She just recently started riding. She Loves to Canter! The most important thing she has learned from her instructor is to keep her heels down. When not riding, Annika like to play at her Grandma's house. But while at the barn, she likes to muck the stalls!

Ava is the smallest of Keeper's owners. She just loves to "warm up her pony" for her big sisters! She is an excellent barn chore helper, and would do them all day long if her mommy would let her! Ava is  a wonderful little girl!

Caroline is 9 years old and she just recently started riding. Her favorite ponies to ride are Sparkles and Rose. Caroline has already been trotting while in two-point!  Now, she is excited to learn to canter! She enjoys going on trail rides. When not at the barn, she likes to dance and do baton twirling.

Sarah has been riding for almost a year now. She is 9 years old. Sarah's favorite riding activity is trail riding and trotting/posting.  She has been to one horseshow, and definatly wants to go to more in the future.  She has learned to squeeze with her legs, kick with her heels behind the girth, and to be giving with her hands.   Her main riding goal is to canter, do some dressage, and to jump! Go Sarah! When not at the barn, she enjoys going to the beach, going to school,  and playing with her friends.

Rhia is 10 years old and likes to jump on Polo and canter on Rosie.  She met Mel at Happy Hearts when she was three years old and is still good friends.  Her favorite things to do at the barn are to have riding lessons with Charlotte and feed the horses around the barn.  Her favorite pony is Cinnamon and her favorite horse is Ruger.

Katie is 9 years old and has been taking lessons for a year now.  She has attended a Games Show, and has even won some ribbons!  Her favorite thing to do is to trot! Her main riding goal is to canter!  Katie has learned to tack up her pony from her instructor. Way to go Katie.  Her favorite ponies at SNF are Sparkles and Chrissy.  When not at the barn, Katie enjoys swimming.

Jenny has been at Second Nature Farm for 6 years now. She is frequently seen chasing after her 2 active toddlers while at the barn. She owns Bartender, who the kids also enjoy riding. Jenny, aka "Jen Jen" while here, also comes to us with her dog Chesney, a parson russell terrier! She enjoys dressage, and jumping anything under 1 foot---he-he!!!  When Jenny is not at the barn, she enjoys working out at the YMCA, playing with her kids, going to the poconos, and going to Nantucket.

Michelle has been riding ponies and horses since she was five years old but has only been taking lessons for the last 4 years or so.  Her boy Ruger is a gentle giant.  She has participated in a few local schooling shows.  When she’s not riding, she’s spending time with her family and exercising.
